Great interview as per usual in the modus operandi gentlemen. I don’t know if I will ever play WOD or Vampire but it was interesting to hear Mr. Bailey speak about the game and the setting.
Rone, I usually don’t go to bed until 2am but I don’t have the romanticized, aesthetic world view of the wee hours… Maybe it’s because you live in a closer proximity to the city? The darker hours are more magical in NYC… Up here where there’s hills and woods, even with the full moon, the environment can be creepy at times, too bad I don’t have a laptop that I can use (which draws energy from lunar illumination) to tap into some creative energy and actually write something that’s not sh– .
And…It’s damn hard getting up before 10am!!
Thanks for commenting, Sean. Much appreciated.
I’ve lived in the cities, in the burbs, in rural areas… I like a night stroll wherever. I prefer the woods at night, lovely dark and deep (shout out to Carl!). But I don’t walk through the woods with a laptop writing down ideas. I’d go through a lot of laptops that way.
Truth be told, it’s been a long long time since I’ve taken such a walk. Seems there are always things to be done at home.
Tangent. I remember being in NYC a little over a week after 9/11… the streets were empty at 3AM. Like what you see in Vanilla Sky or the Omega Man/I am Legend. It was a once in a lifetime view.
Vampire is not my game … but it was an excellent interview. I do now have a greater understanding of the underpinnings of the game. I loved the sample character he came up with. That was really instructive on what the game is all about.
Thanks, Troy. Plus one on being quite impressed with Jennie Shakes and how she alluded to the game’s narrative potential.
