Prophecy (Atomic Array 003)

Greg Hancock joined us to talk about Prophecy, the “real fantasy” roleplaying game from Relentless Publishing.

The first thing we noticed about Prophecy? It’s a box set - a heavy one, with a robust map set and dozens of GM aids. The production values are incredible! But this isn’t just a pretty box, with pretty paper on the inside. Prophecy has a lot of great elements to recommend it, including flexible rules and a skill-based system for character advancement.

Ed’s Pick

Remember the Thief series? The godfather of the “first person sneaker?” Ed does.

Rone’s Rant

All quiet on the western multiplex… Rone goes off on people who won’t keep quiet at the movies.

Contests!

We’re giving a complete set of Prophecy products, including the core box set, and the Player Manual. Listen to find out how to enter!

We also announced the winner of the Album Design Contest. You can expect to see the new artwork starting with Episode 004.

Oh _Thief_, you terrible siren. I once found out that my GM had been offered the chance to go write for Lookinglass Studios on Thief and Thief: Metal Age, but passed up because he didn’t want to try living in downtown Boston on a questionable salary.

I promptly threw my shoe at him. Then threw my other shoe. Then kicked near him.

I love that game…it even had a way to replicate it with the Unreal Tournament Engine. I may need to put it on my wishlist.

Kudos on another podcast that’s showcasing games that push storytelling and encourage expanding one’s roleplaying horizions.

Another fantastic episode guys. I especially enjoyed the discussion of the rules for Prophecy and the design behind them. Keep em coming!

I can’t wait to listen to this. Thief is still my all-time favorite video game series.

Erg! Can’t listen to this at work! Thief is one of the best games ever written — I’ve never been frightened
by a game before until this one (and not since)
I was sneaking around and knocked something over — the guards went bananas and killed me!

Holy Schnikees!! Ultrasupermegacool episode gentlemen! The closing music reminds a little bit of Faith No More! Nice guys! Nice!
The rant was hilarious and Prophecy… Dammit! If I keep listening to these podcasts I’m going to go broke! From buying all these cool RPGs you guys pimp!

You guys rock. Thank you so much for the great feedback!
