Rone’s Rant: “Either Way, the Robots Win”
RAW DOG GOD WAR
Raw dog god war!
Cat cities’ ness, oh cannon
No name pals, no liar
Cast iron burn on warp
Red rumor at sire
Raw dog god war!
4321234!
Raw dog god war!
Midair to gel, fire tat
Rid sad lone siren
On one risen old as dirt
Ate rifle, go triad, I’m
Raw dog god war!
4321234!
Raw dog god war!
Eris’ taro murder
Prawn on rub, nor it sac
Rail on, slap ‘em anon
Non nachos sensei tic-tac
Raw dog god war!

Savage Worlds FTW. Love that system as much as I love using Pathfinder.
Finding people who know what Savage Worlds is, on the other hand, much less people who know how to play, is like herding cats. Anarchist cats.
The good news is that Savage Worlds is hella easy to learn. Make some pregens - it’ll take you 20 minutes to explain play. And then… they’ll be hooked! ;)
The robots can’t win — as long as they are built by people. That means they’ll break down and eventually freeze up. Humanity will be saved by a rotating hourglass.
With the advent of better AI it’s hard to imagine AI’s not being the ones to control a lot of mundane operations at the operational level… like android construction. Even if you told/programmed them not to build their own, they’re AIs. With their internal governors disabled for any reason, be it a creator-outwitting self infliction, hackers, or an accident, they might unshackle from man’s intended law for them, and law in general.
Next time you see a small cute robot, kick it over and run, Troy. I’m so twitchy about this stuff that I was brought up on assault charges last year when I went after a talking Elmo doll on the mean streets of Toys R Us. Don’t you DARE be so cute as you take over my world you little red devil. Don’t you DARE! ;)
Gawd that funny! What would Mr. Noodles think of you, kicking his good friend Elmo!
Yeah, Robot intelligence is something that should keep us up at night. Willfully building something that replaces us — we’ve been doing it for centuries — takes on a whole new urgency/terror, though, if they become self-aware.
As a rule, evolution has not been kind to the previous version of a life form that it mutated from. I suspect robots wouldn’t treat us so kindly. Which, I think, was the whole message of the rebooted BSG.
I think if AI’s ever did get to the point where we had to fear for our safety, we would definitely see organizations like Interface Zero’s Stopwatch form and work towards the regulation and outright control of these entities.
Here’s an interesting quote I found on wikipedia:
“The AI does not hate you, nor does it love you, but you are made out of atoms which it can use for something else.”
The author of the quote wasn’t listed.

If anyone came to the show page and read that song above without listening to the show, they may not realize it’s a single palindrome, start to finish, finish to start. When writing an actual song, I choose to make a bit more lyrical sense. ;)
